CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 29, 2020) — Renaissance West Community Initiative (RWCI) announced today that the organization has received the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designation of an EnVision Center Demonstration site. This designation allows federal partners to bring resources to the local community and assist residents to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from growth opportunities to achieve independence and self-sufficiency.

HUD EnVision Center Demonstration sites are committed to moving individuals and families to self-sufficiency by establishing centralized hubs of support focused on the following four pillars:

  • Economic Empowerment
  • Educational Advancement
  • Health and Wellness
  • Character and Leadership

RWCI’s unique placed-based approach to housing stability, cradle to career education, economic empowerment and health and wellness directly aligns with the EnVision Center Demonstration’s mission. RWCI proudly serves as the “Community Quarterback” for residents in the Renaissance and Little Rock neighborhoods along the west corridor of Charlotte.
